About

Located in the 6th arrondissement of Marseille, just a few steps away from “Le quartier des antiquaires”, Focus Focus is an independent eyewear boutique, that shares its expertise, enthusiasm and connection, in a slow-paced and multi sensorial environment.

We are accessible to everyone who seeks a unique customer experience and a highly curated selection. In reaction to the present eyewear landscape dominated by mass produced brands, Focus Focus wants to offer an alternative and challenge the optical status quo: in the creation itself, but also by sharing the artisanship behind it. Our curation comes from designs made with a passion from eco-friendly ace-tate to titanium sculpted by highly skilled craftspeople. Focus Focus defends the many stages production of durable frames from factories based in the cradle of France, Italy and Japan.

At Focus Focus, we also believe in the need to raise awareness on “vision health”. Therefore, from optometry to posturology, our qualified opticians aim to provide the best eyecare services to our community. Our inspiration starts from the uniqueness of your eyes and a product, before we put a brand name on it. We believe that “a frame becomes a frame, until someone wears it”.

Concept and Experience

When searching for a fine object that becomes an extension of oneself, the answer does not necessarily mean settling for the first model that comes your way, nor does it mean starting from scratch each time.
Our philosophy: “minimize to exist”, is why we do not display all our frames from the onset of your store experience; our seasoned team of experts can of- fer selections and meaningful dialogues that will open a scope of possibilities you’d never expect. Focus Focus invites you to give yourself a chance to be amazed by your choice and sharing common memories.
Listens, analyzes, and guides according to its community needs, activities and desires. We pride ourselves in our selective inventory of thoughtful collection of objects and brands that are rich with heritage.

We deeply believe that a tailored experience can be attainable only by offer- ing the most innovative lenses and optics technology, by LEICA.

Repair, Renovation and Recycling

Aware of the urgent need to protect the environment, Focus Focus offers responsible and committed solutions through a passionate act. Thanks to our know-how and privileged links with our partner brands and craftsmen, Focus Focus offers a repair and restoration service for all frames. In our workshop, our polishing, sandblasting, welding and tinting techniques enable us to bring your metal, acetate, wood, horn or tortoiseshell eyewear back to life.

Focus Focus collects unused prescription and sunglasses and sends them to the lunette sans frontieres association, which refurbishes them and sends them to social organizations in Marseille, France and to humanitarian NGOs abroad.

Leica lenses

For over 100 years, Leica has strived for optical excellence and visual perfection to become the world's most respected and iconic camera brand.

For its lenses manufactured in France, Leica and Novacel have created an ambitious partnership to ensure and further develop the performance of ophthalmic lenses. By combining their cutting-edge technical expertise and ensuring compliance with the most stringent manufacturing standards, Leica and Novacel enable wearers to enjoy a personalized, ultra-comfortable visual experience.

To guarantee constant protection and comfort, Leica offers ultra-innovative solutions on its entire range of digital and progressive lenses, accentuating the comfort and protection of your eyes.

∙ AQUADURA® VISION anti-reflective coating: The result of collaboration between the R&D divisions of Leica Camera and Novacel, AQUADURA® VISION anti-reflective coating is the perfect adaptation of the AQUADURA® coating found on Leica sports optics.

The AQUADURA® VISION coating gives Leica Eyecare lenses enhanced durability.

∙ UVM anti-UV filter: The Leica Eyecare solution against ultraviolet rays. Thanks to a new monomer composed of ultraviolet-capturing molecules, UVM filters out 100% of UV, thus preserving your eye health. The lens retains its aesthetic appeal and remains transparent.

∙ Anti-harmful blue light (ESM) lens: Leica Eyecare's solution to blue light. Using a molecule incorporated into the lens material, ESM filters out up to 100% of the most harmful blue (415nm) while letting in 90% of turquoise blue light (465nm). A material that absorbs harmful blue light while preserving the aesthetics of the lenses thanks to the absence of blue reflections.

∙ Transitions® SignatureTM glass: Transitions® SignatureTM GEN 8TM glass is the new generation of Transitions® SignatureTM glass. Perfectly clear indoors, it is designed to quickly change to a darker shade in sunlight. It therefore offers a significant advantage over conventional white lenses.

∙ Leica polarizing lens: This lens contains a filter that eliminates reflections from reflective surfaces such as snow, water and roads.

Visual Health and Awarenes

From infancy to old age, sight is a precious sense. Today, 1 in 5 French people have uncorrected or poorly corrected eyesight, while children's learning at school, social integration, employment and the independence of the elderly all depend on good eyesight.

According to the WHO, myopes accounted for 23% of the world's population in 2000, rising to 50% by 2050. This is a global public health issue, and France will be no exception, given our changing lifestyles (screens, sedentary lifestyles, UV exposure) and aging population.

Myopia in children:

We need to take care of our visual capital from childhood onwards, because good vision is essential for good learning. Indeed, most of the information acquired by children comes through their eyesight.

In addition to regular check-ups, which are essential for visual health, the challenge for children suffering from progressive myopia is to slow down its progression and, ultimately, to limit the risk of complications associated with severe myopia.

In 2021, two leading glassmakers have created two innovative lenses to counter and slow the progress of children's myopia: Stellest and MiYOSmart. The aim of these two lenses is to prevent high myopia, or if already present, to limit its development as much as possible.
